Contact the Club

The Club started in humble circumstances in what was formerly the Allanbrook Hospital. All work was done voluntarily in the early days.

The original building burnt down leaving members without a Club until April 1949 when a new building was constructed in its present position.

Since then our Club has grown in strength and size. We are now a modern, well-appointed Club able to provide Visitors, Members and their Guests with a wide range of facilities.

Although we have grown and changed we are proud of our heritage and uphold the traditions of our RSL past. Leeton Soldiers Club was formed by a group of dedicated ex-servicemen.

Location

The beautiful town of Leeton is situated approximately six hours drive from both Sydney and Melbourne.
The town is easily accessible from the Newell, Sturt and Hume Highways.

Leeton is the Heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area - a part of the "Food Bowl" of N.S.W.

Formed in 1913, Leeton and the surrounding area's are renowned for the abundance and quality of crops as diverse as Rice, Canola, Wheat and various other grains as well as Citrus and Stone Fruits. The region is also the largest grape growing area in N.S.W. A combination of rich soils, warm climate and plentiful water ensure this.

The ability to grow these crops is the result of an extensive irrigation system, which is fed by the Burrunjuck and Blowering Dams. Developed by Pioneer, Sir Samuel McCaughey, the irrigation water has become the lifeblood of the region - responsible for ensuring the future of this wonderful town.

Leeton is also home to a many other successful industries including Sunrice, Celair Malmet, Rockdale Feedlot, Greens Foods, Berri Juices to name just a few.
